I hope you're not mad...

I have to tell you something...

This entire dessert is made from plants. The brownie. The ice cream. Heck, even the glass of milk.

All plants.

People get really annoyed or grossed out or defensive of meat when I tell them about plants!

I will NEVER judge you for eating a steak. My dad sells steak! I will never judge you for drinking cow's milk. I do from time to time. And cheese? Hello Pizza Friday. And I will never eat vegan cheese because that sh*t gross and full of chemicals.

 

I promise you, I'm not like a regular vegan. I am a cool vegan. 

Oh... and sometimes I eat meat. Last night I had a burger. Meh! I just usually eat plant-based because it makes me FEEEEEEEL MY BEST. It is super cheap. (We are saving for a wedding over here!)

No, I didn't go into our backyard and pull weeds and twigs to make this.

And this doesn't have weird ingredients you can only find in California.

I have plant protein as a dessert every night. 

I've been eating plants for the last 2 years. I haven't gotten sick in a year. My fiance has gotten sick every time he travels, and despite us being in close quarters in our 1 bedroom apartment, I have not! I was perpetually sick for 6 years. I HAVEN'T GOTTEN SICK IN A YEAR.  I have loads of energy and I am HAPPY and I haven't gained weight back and I get to have chocolate every day and it tastes great... so... yeah it's worth it! 

 

 

Ingredients for brownie aka plants!

1 scoop of plant protein powder

2 tbsps of unsweetened almond milk (I try to buy almond milk without carrageenan in the ingredients. Check out the ones in the fridge sections and not the ones on the shelf. We like Trader Joe's almond milk! If you're super planty, make your own almond milk! I am NOT super planty. I am a cool vegan. Ain't got time for that.)

 

Ingredients for ice cream aka plants!

1/2 banana

splash of almond milk

 

Toppings aka plants!

2 tsps peanut butter (Check ingredients! There should just be peanuts, salt, and maybe oil. Steer away from nut butters that have added sugar.)

a sprinkle of unsweetened coconut shavings

 

Directions:

Start with the ice cream first. Mash up 1/2 of a banana in a bowl and then add a splash of almond milk and mash up more. Freeze for 1 hour.

Add 1 scoop of plant protein powder with 2 tablespoons of almond milk in a bowl with tall sides. Mix it all together with a spoon. It will seem like it is not enough liquid, but have faith! We can do this. Keep mixing until it is a brownie batter consistency. If you want it to look pretty and like an actual brownie, scoop into your hands and roll around until a ball. Press down onto a plate and form a square. If you're lazy AF like me, unless I am making for a photo on my blog, just leave it as a mess in the bowl! 

Take the frozen banana out of the freezer. If you want it to look pretty, use an ice cream scooper to form into a ball. If you're lazy AF like me, just put that frozen banana patty onto your brownie batter.

Top with 2 teaspoons of peanut butter and a sprinkle of coconut shavings!

 

Plant power! Single serving dessert! Brownie and ice cream. Have with a glass of almond milk!
